Switch Coffee : Brewathome No, 6

What is up guys!! How is it going??

It is bloody hot in Japan today in fact, it reaches 34 c at the highest. This is the hottest day for me in Japan!

It is getting more accurate to pour iced coffee these days and surely I will brew loads of iced filter this summer ! haha

But before brewing iced pourover, I definitely have to brew the new beans in hot, so I can taste the coffee in a way that roaster wants us to do!

As we Japanese love iced coffee including cold brew so much, i will be one of them ! haha

Well, anyways today on this post, i will be sharing the second single origin out of five roasters.

The one I introduce today is called " Switch Coffee" !! And I have tried it few days ago already!!

Address ; 1 Chome- 17-23, Meguro, Meguro City, Tokyo, 153-0063, Japan

This is again one of another coffee shop or roastery that I haven't been able to visit yet and never had a chance to do. If I am being really honest, I didnt know about this place itself either, just because I haven't looked up many shops in Japan so.

But after I saw and checked the website and location, it looked really good and neat website, the selection of coffees they offer seems quite good as well!

I am curious to go there one day surely!

And here is the bit of detail of this origin!!

Origin ; Honduras

Region ; Marcala

Variety ; Bourbon

Process; Washed

I couldn't find any more details on the origin, so that will be everything for this one!

One thing I like about them is that, they seem to have theme colours on each origin and each products they offer. With this one, it has bright and pastel ish purple and yellow.

I mean many shops does this colour theme thing to give the ideas of how would this coffee taste like.

I personally like Honduras coffee in general, like all the honduras coffee I have tasted before were always tasty and amazing.

There you go! The brewed result!!

I followed the same recipe and approach as the last coffee with a slight difference in water temp and stuff.

As this is light roast, I boiled the water higher than the last one, I could highlight its beautiful acidity more!!

The recipe is;

Dose ; 15.0g

Grind size Medium-fine

Yield ; 235g

Temp ; 92C

Brew time; 3, 30 secs

It was a simply fruity and smooth cup to me!!

It has notes of raisin and prune associated with ripen fruits, with beautiful lavender ish aroma and aftertaste has a long brown sugar sweetness!

It sounds little harsh, but it definitely met my expectation and in fact it was beyond!

I nearly brewed 250 g which is normally lot more than I consume at once, but I drank it fast!

Also, I can easily assure that this coffee works better in iced filter!!

As it is getting warmer and iced coffee season, I will for sure use the rest for iced!

Right!!

Overall It was great coffee again, it made me wanna visit this place if I ever had a chance to take a journey to Tokyo!!

The next one I will share is more exicting one!!

Hopefully i will be able to put it out as soon as possible!!

Stay tuned!!

Cheers!!
