Marseille holiday No, 1 With the lads!

更新日:2020年4月8日

What's up everyone!

The world has been still mad and causing an absolute pandemonium.

But people are required to stay home unless for essential food shopping in many countries, fortunately not in Japan as strict as other developed countries.

So, I feel like it would be a nice idea for me to recall my holidays I had in Marseille with my mates.

For the purpose of making myself to go through this hard time with positive mindset!

It might sound inappropriate to talk about the holiday, but this is from almost over a year ago, so partly to remind myself of the wonderful time I spent with mates.

As I said, its been almost a year since this trip, to be exact,

we went on this holiday from 10th of July - 14th of July!!

Yap. it is such a old time already and I had a crazy amount of time to post about this trip,

but I'm gonna do it now anyway!!! haha

Just looking back the photos on my phone encouraged me to make this action!!

Well, We booked this only quite spontaneously I remember, we did plan for this holiday itself, but we struggles to choose one city until quite last minute!

We came up with so many destination, but checking our money situation, flight, stay costs,

it came to the conclusion that Marseille suited our budget for this trip and we all got attracted to the place, all happy with the decision!

I was so excited for this holiday, and the whole trip itself, but especially got pumped for the fact I have never organised the trip with British friends as a whole travel plan. Might have done a day trip before but this time it was different and in other country!

We got together at the Bton Station in the early morning, headed to Gatwick airport and caught the flight and it took off on time!

It took us around some easy 2 or 3 hours flight to arrive at Marseiile!

It was already warm in the UK by then, and not like extremely hot weather there, so as soon as we got out the airport and waited for our Uber, the temp outside was over 30C,

it was quite hot, but not scorching, or burning.

It wasn't particularly humid place, so with some nice breeze it felt really comfy to be out even in that hot temp.

And then, our Uber took us to the Airbnb we booked, bit of hassle getting in the flat at the owner didn't speak English much, and I didnt have a network to communicate this man, but he was really nice, kind, gentle !

Managed to get in, it was a nice, spacious flat for four of us, and dropped our stuff, unpacked our stuff, chilled for a bit.

We were getting ready to explore the city, as it was still noon time, we had the whole afternoon to explore!!

We actually didn't plan much, just kept it casual and things could change as we go on even if you make solid plans,

but first of all, we needed some food to eat, but we walked toward to the town to find something to eat.

And you don't wanna believe what we had, yes,!! cheeky Maccas!

I know it is super typical for tourists and we did exactly the same thing. lol

It was funny coz we ordered on the machine and got the number for our order to be called out, but the staffs were obviously use French, so we quickly needed to check how my number is pronounced in their language,

and I somehow caught in my ears and received my food with no issue! haha

I was like why do i need to get panic just to get my food! lol. Little drama just to eat food!

Made me learn to prepare how we were gonna spend the rest of out time here... lol

After that, we got to the man area of the city where tourists are gathered, it was such a glorious day to go out and hang out, really sunny, warm.

There is an old castle on top of the hill, so we were on the way to that, and found out, it was closed, so we couldn't get in,

also, looked around to view some amazing sceneries. beautiful looking port and harbour. I already told myself we chose the right place for our holiday!

We kept walking around the coast on foot, made us sweat a lot but it was really cool to see everything I spot.

We ended up at our first beach since we arrived, it was full of people lying down on the beach some played beach volleyball!

It felt like a proper holiday mood! The water looked super clear, couldn't wait to jump in!!

We dove in the water and swam for mins and we decided to continue our walk to the next beach!

There are many beaches alongside this coast and long way from the start to the end!

So, onto the next one!

We walked miles and miles and we stopped at the beach on each stop, just chilled and swimming , soaking, tanning.

On the way to the each beach, we get to enjoy the lifestyle, views and buildings so much.

Like Even this little bridge looks absolutely beautiful to me and something I have never seen in my real life and appreciated the time and opportunity for this trip!

Typical, classic mediterranean view!!

There was a way down to the bottom of this bridge, so making our way down there after slope, stairs.

At the back of this bridge, there are nice locals houses and they all just look super cute and somewhat instagramable scenery.

I remember i took loads of pics at this point!

It is really nice to see still locals having normal life as everyday, swimming, jumping from the little cliff ( some are told off by the authority as it is a quite dangerous activity.. haha)

we had super long walk after this, and stopped a couple of more beaches, then found our way home, on food all the way to the flat.

We slight got lost on the way back home and sweat af,

Just too tired to go out for the dinner on that evening, I went to a local shop to grab some snacks and food, then ended up ordering deliveroo for our first night!!

As we were so shattered, i felt asleep by eleven in the evening, lol

It was still hot during the night, but it wasn't too hard to sleep anyway ;)

Luckily our are wasn't the centre, nice and quiet during the night apart from someone' snoring... ahh. lol

Anyway, that is our Day 1 in marseille! Did lot for the first day, and onto the Day 2 which is our whole day for hiking!

Cheers!! Y
