Day 2 in Marseille : Most Intense Hiking...

Right! Back on making a dairy of my holiday in Marseille!

This is our day 2 which was our first ever whole day out to spend!

Sun was out, the weather was perfect as yesterday like classic summer weather with the temp of over 30C, yet was still quite comfortable being outside!!

So on our second day, surprisingly, we had a proper plan for the day which is to go on hiking around coast!

We are all excited that bit of hiking would be fun and good exercise during the holiday!

My friends picked up our starting point and checked how we proceed our route to the destination on the night before!

It wasn't in the main part of Marseille as it was more of countryside and rural! and tranquil area and remote from the city!

We took the Uber and he drove us to our dropping point, and we were like' thats it man, you took us up to where we wanted to get outs.

However, there was a steep slope to go down until we get to the first stop. so he decided to drive down to the bottom like as close as he can to the beach where we planned to start our hike!

Omg, on the way down was so seriously dangerous, I got no picture to explain how narrow, steep and curvy the route down was, but literally just wide enough for one car to go by,

and at one point, another car coming up from our front to try pass our car,

the driver was like guiding the other driver's way.

omg, one of this car's wheel nearly fell off the unpaved path and i was like 'holy shit' !!

Anyway, we managed to make our way down after that madness, thanks to the driver, he was an absolutely legend! Obviously we tipped him as well for his super skill!

I've lost my sun glasses in his car in case you wanted to hear another drama! lol

Then we made it to our first beach spot, it was so chilled and quiet, less people, there only seemed to be locals.

We stayed there for a bit, swimming, laying down, getting sun kissed.

After that, we kicked off our hiking, and I was like let's do it! with an excitement but this hiking was lot worse than I expected...

So, first we needed to find an entrance to start our walk, it was too hot, so I only had a shorts on, and kept walking.

As soon as, I saw the route up towards the top of the cliff, my gut told me this was gonna be fucking tough one. but there was no going back, just gotta get it done until we finish!

It was dry climate, made us all sweat so much, and dehydrated.

As we were going up the hills, the water was running out at the same time, running out our oxygen to breathe, it was hell of a hiking!

Nothing close to the hiking I was thinking! lol

You see no one doing the same activity as us, for the record we didn't see anyone passing by, just literally us on this wildest hiking experience!!

There wasn't much shade neither, so every time we find a little spot with some shade, we tried to rest and put sunscreen on coz we kept having sunlight onto our skin otherwise!!

Having hiked for a good old few hours, we finally manage to get to the top-ish of this mountain and celebrated our mission!!

I was literally like this is it! we made it but like how are we gonna get back to town? lol

No transport coming to pick us up! Nothing around apart from some incredible scenery you see over Mediterranean. Blue sky, super clear water in the sea.

Loads of hikers left the stones on the top as the achievement of their hiking, so had to take this moment to do this! lol

As its was on top of there hill, the sun directly was burning our skin, so we couldn't stay there too long and continued our journey to the next stop, up until then, the path was getting more steep and up and down hill, it was becoming more rough, and risky, but

we only could keep moving forward!!!

Some of us slipped and tripped down, the shoes sole were worn out and difficult time, I in fact smashed my bum on the ground and lost my motivation! But we also enjoyed our unique and unreal experience!!!

Then we got to a little local port and we called this place our final stop, ( i was moaning a bit on the way actually.,haha )

Then, stopped this little cute beach for a swim and cool down, all of us were sweat as hell, needed this soak!!

It was the best bathtub of my life after such an intense nearly 8 hours of hiking!!!

We deserved this all!

Our skin was all burnt literally, mine changed into proper purple, like I have never seen my skin turning to that colour, probably not an ideal for the skin.

My friends were all like pink, red it hurt so much!! lol

I deeply regret that I applied tanning oil instead of suncream. haha

Lesson learned there!

Although we had to walk up half way up to call our Uber back home, We fucking nailed this solid hiking plan and when we got back to our airbnb,

we were all shattered, and relax for the rest of the day!!

It was another super fun, most tiring day in Marseille and surely remain an unforgettable experience for my life!!
